God has chosen to close the final chapter on another beautiful life. Our faith leads us to turn to Him and say, Not our will but Thine be done. Eva Florence GRIMES, the 3rd daughter of John D and Amanda Ellen Grimes was born in Russell Township, Putnam County, Indiana on April 27, 1881. She entered into her Eternal Life on June 14, 1957 at the age of 76 years one month and 17 days. Eva was graduated from old Russell Center School and grew to young womanhood in this community. On Feb 19, 1902 she married in Greencasltle Alvin Turner Harbison. This proved to be a long, happy and fruitful marriage to which she gave the utmost in loyalty and devotion. Together she and Turner experienced a full life, from the romance and vigor of youth to the golden glow of their sunset years. This union was blessed with six sons and one daughter: Raymond Leroy; Winfred Audif; Kenneth K; John Alex; Clyde Lowell; Ralph Pearl and Vida Aleene. These children, together with their families and her grandchildren, were the center of Eva Harbison's life and her major pride and joy. She ever strove for their health and happiness encouraged their education and prayed for their success and welfare. Thus she fulfilled the God-given role of Motherhood. Eva spent almost all of her life in the vicinity of Russellville where she was happy in her home and content in the companionship of her family and of her many friends. Her warm personality, her great kindliness and her unfailing consideration of others won and held for her the respect and affection of all who knew her. Throughout her life Eva was a devoted Christian. As a girl she joined the old Hebron Christian Church and continued as an active and loyal member of the Russellville Christian Church to the very end. To this church, to its Ladies Aid, she gave generously of her time, talent and energy. It was her constant hope that these efforts would contribute in some small measure, to making the community and the world a more Christian place in which to live. And in recent years especially, she looked beyond life's horizon to the Life Everlasting. I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, though he die, yet shall he live and whosever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. John 11:25, 26. Besides her devoted husband, loyal sons and faithful daughter, she is survived by one son-in-law, Melvin T. Moore; six daughters-in-law, Frances Ocie, Vera, Melissa, Inez and Maryola; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Cleve, Eugene and Claude Grimes; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Guilliams and Mrs. Myrtle Norman and a host of other relatives and friends. To these she will forever be a wonderful woman and cherished memory. - kbz
